(20) TWEN-T Hours!

In a grad student’s pennyworth life,
Twenty hours is a standard block of time,
For each hour of painstaking work,
All they earn is a hundred dimes.

Sixteen go in taxes, and 17 for one muffin,
The sixty seven left in pockets harmoniously chime,
Then there’s the afternoon slumber, and to ward that off,
Buying a cuppa coffee for 16 ain’t any crime.

Twenty hours of research, stretched into the night time,
Another twenty for the homework, it’s still not even halftime,
Twenty hours of grading, taking points off for grime,
Twenty is for job hunt, to earn those 100,000 dimes.

Twenty hours at the gym, and for playing soccer in slime,
To keep the drawstring tight, to enter thirties in prime,
Twenty hours of meetings, presentations and thesis, all so sublime,
Twenty hours of social life, Facebook, pubs, vodka and lime.

Twenty + eight hours of broken sleep,
And savings stripped down to a dime,
Twenty hours in a grad student’s life,
Is like a penny found in the fountain of time!

Neutrality

In appearance, calm,
In demeanour, void;
Expression of lackluster,
Sharp corners, ovoid;

Anxiety, stilled,
Purpose, devoid;
Colours, bleached,
Prevails, froid;

Blunt, rationale,
Justifies, paranoid;
Sane disposition,
Frenzy, coyed.

sorryS

Ligther than air, 'SORRIES'
jejune excuses for committed follies
novel ways can the mind devise
but easy are the ephermal 'LIES'
THEY can never repair the damage done
'declared etiquettes' with meaning undone
some sugary syrup in the salty seas
polished veneer on the sun dried leaves
an attempt to mollify the deep disgrace
a pecadillo hidden by a charming face.

So, sorry dear Mr. Sorry,
I shall use thee no more,
I'm sorry indeed, for YOU
and YOUR SORRIES for sure

Come July

Seventh month of the year,
Of seventh year, is here,
Flashes of sunshine, and droplets of rain,
But, does rain always signifies some pain,
It is the rain of abundance, of smiles,
Of washed away tears,
Of happiness pulling you close,
And away from fears,
It's here for you, embrace it,
Rejoice it, do not leave it mere.

START<--THE<--TO<--BACK

It was a plan unseen, a vision unplanned,
A world of its own, a planet unmanned,
Untamed and at unrest, with life disarmed,
A joy to grieve, walking chilled with warmth.

Such is the one, out of its numerous kinds,
So entwined, so unrevealed, is the analysis of human mind,
When impossibility is denied, an outrage ignites,
When days are by-gone, the thoughts rewind.

A little turbulence, when causes discontent,
And captivity drives away true intents,
For some face it, against uproars, with their wills so brave,
For those who wait, lay the path to their graves.

Freedom will be assured, and promises will be kept,
A taste of freedom so untimely swept,
Will be regained with someone held so dear to heart,
With someone besides, do we have a reason to part,
From every ending let me take you back to the start.

I still do not Know!

Yeah!Just a thought of that very bird who,
I thought was trying to soar above the rest,
Spreading her wings with eternal delight,
Lost in the mystery of the full moon night,
Disappeared behind the trees to go out of sight,
Who she was I do not know,
Just wished that moment would go slow,
The thoughts that fled in that one row,
But who she was I still do not know…..

All I did was to take a sigh,
All I wished it to be sweet lie,
For all that happened in a blink of an eye,
Leaves rustled under the faint blue sky,
And who was she I know not now,
All I know she made me wow,
The bird in black, who swirled and turned,
And from her face the laughter churned,
And in her moves was a divine spirit,
And in her looks, a trumping turret,
And then it was the time for me to go,
For that black bird that I still do not KNOW!

tHINK!

Think, for thoughts are integral to your life
Think, to splash your ideas, In the pool you dive,
Think, coz’ after you are gone, only your thoughts survive,
Think, coz’ from every beginning, there’s an end to arrive.

Think, to break free from the monotone of every second’s blink,
Think, make your convictions so strong, so your heart may never sink,
Think of colors of life, from blue to pink,
Think, what you believe, and not what others about you think.

Think, coz’ you hold the bridle to make others think,
Think, to resurrect those who have forgotten how to think,
Think, coz’ to make a chain, we need to add on links,
So don’t just wink, simply think!!

Think, FOLKS think!!!!
